Anthony Holloway and his Chums.

The Daily Record is currently reporting on Anthony Holloway one of the UK’s dog fighting king pins here.

We have covered Holloway before and are aware of his very extensive connections within the sadistic world of dog fighting. Amongst them are Liam Taylor from McDuff and Rhys Davies of Millden Estate whose cases we have also reported. Holloway’s web of contacts from ‘retired’ terrorists in Northern Ireland, to pest controllers, fox hunters and gamekeepers is huge. Many would be surprised at the wide social spectrum of the contacts that one apparently minor thug and criminal from a small town in Scotland actually has. Of particular interest are the number of contacts Holloway has within the world of fox hunting. Given that the basic aim of both activities is for one, or a number of animals to rip another animal apart for the sadistic pleasure of the watching humans this is perhaps not so surprising.

Hopefully Holloway’s continued involvement in dog fighting will give those who hand out sentences in our courts pause for thought as they begin to realise just how organised and obsessive this activity really is.

Once again we will be interested to see if any of the hunting or shooting organisations will comment on on the Record’s excellent report or whether they will maintain their stance of omerta as they usually do when faced with unpleasant facts. Whatever their stance perhaps some of their members will be sleeping a little less easily having been reminded of that constant worry of the early morning knock on the door.
