This is a brief update on the approaches to Police & Crime Commissioners (PCCs) in England & Wales for comments of the issuing of a fine or fines to the Prime Minister Boris Johnson for breaching his own Covid regulations.
So far we have had or been made aware of eight responses. All except one have been holding replies or non-committal comments citing general views on law breaking. A single response has been critical of the Prime Minister.
We would continue to encourage people to contact their local PCC for comment. Because of their territorial status PCCs are not obliged to respond to queries from individuals outwith their area of operation unless the offence enquired about has taken place there and so we are unable to carry out a countrywide survey.
If you do write to you PCC please be polite and let us know the response that you get.
You can reach us by using the contact page on our blog or by direct message on Twitter.
Thanks to all those who have helped so far.
