This morning Raptor Persecution UK are reporting that Philip Davies the former police officer who represented the Countryside Alliance on various wildlife crime priority delivery groups has been removed from all those groups by Chief Inspector Kevin Kelly, Head of the National Wildlife Crime Unit. Whilst this news will be welcomed by those frustrated by Davies presence it is a serious risk for Kev Kelly and he will come under heavy pressure to reverse the ban.
As we have said previously we believe that all parties taking part in meetings of wildlife crime priority delivery groups should clearly and unequivocably support the aims and objectives of those groups. You cannot be part of one of these priority delivery groups as an individual or an organisation if you have been found to be breaking the law, encouraging others to do so, or blatantly ignoring law breaking. We strongly feel that as long as Phil Davies is employed by the Countryside Alliance they should have no further place in any of the priority delivery groups.
Time for change.
