Liam Taylor, 32 of Deyhill, Macduff appeared for sentencing appeared at Banff Sherif Court on Wednesday and had his case continued when Sheriff Robert McDonald agreed to give Taylor another chance to accept his crimes fully in the hope he can avoid going to jail.
Defence Agent Stuart Flowerdew suggested his client was now “open and amenable to education” and asked for time for supplementary reports to be prepared. The Sheriff ordered Taylor to engage again with social workers, who will produce a new report before a new sentencing date next month.
So far kenneling costs and vets bills for Taylor’s injured dog Brock have cost the Scottish SPCA £11,800. Taylor refused to sign the dog over when he was arrested and the Crown’s motion for forfeiture of Brock was also continued.
