An excellent piece in The Herald today on mountain hare ‘protection’ in Scotland. Will it be effective or will it be the same as the ‘protection’ afforded to beavers and red squirrels which is also overseen by Nature Scot? We’ll wait and see. But not for long!

The newly rebranded Nature Scot (formerly Scottish Natural Heritage) sometimes looks in danger of heading the same way as the completely discredited Natural England. Let’s hope it isn’t.
