Conservative MP Tom Hunt supporting driven grouse shooting said “I do not really hear what the alternatives would be in those areas, apart from grouse shooting. If rewilding were suggested, we could have pumas, lynxes and honey badgers running wild in these areas. That would be quite an interesting spectacle, so perhaps tourism would continue to be popular, because people would like to see how that happens.”

Perhaps Tom was being facetious or perhaps he does not know very much about the British countryside. Rewilding means not destroying the natural habitat to create a monoculture and not killing the native wildlife to produce more and more grouse for a few people to kill.
