The old adage that when you are in a hole you should stop digging is clearly one to which the Scottish Gamekeepers Association does not subscribe. Having failed to convince anyone other than themselves that Chris Packham faked his own death threats they are now wanting to complain to the Electoral Commission about a Green Party candidate’s leaflet. This is hardly helped by the thoroughly unpleasant comments about the candidate in question on their social media sites.

We have no intention of detailing the comments which tell us more about the nature of the posters and their cronies than they do about the actual complaint. We will simply leave it to reasonable people in the shooting industry to decide whether they wish to support or be associated with this misogynistic abuse. We will however make the point that when people can’t counter the message they tend to attack the messenger.
