We are pleased to see that the Scottish Gevernment has brought in enhanced protection for mountain hares. This iconic and endangered species has been the subject of routine and unregulated killing for far too long. It now remains to be seen how effective the licensing system is in practice. We shall be monitoring it very closely over the coming months.
