Following up on our post of 13th November about the discovery by the Hunt Saboteurs Association of a very disturbing video of members of the foxhunting community. A number of national news organisations have now taken up the story and a police investigation is under way. We suspect that there will not be a prosecution but at least members of the general public are getting a chance to see inside the secret workings of the Hunting Office.
Almost certainly as a result of the serious adverse publicity that this video has caused a number of organisations including Forestry England, the National Trust and United Utilities have suspended hunting on their land. Strangely the Lake District National Park has still not done so at the time of this blog. If you want to ask them why you can contact them by email at hq@lakedistrict.gov.uk or by telephone on 01539 724555. Please be polite.
PS 27/11/2020: This morning the Lake District National Park announced that they had suspended all trail hunting licenses for their land. Thank you to everyone who contacted them.
