Kimblewick Hunt Men Given Suspended Sentences.

A follow on from our blog and guest blog about the Kimblewick hunt. Ian James Kirby Parkinson, 65, of Lower Road, Haddenham, and Mark Anthony Vincent, 53, of Kimblewick, Aylesbury – the President of the Kimblewick Hunt group, were sentenced today. They were both found guilty last month at Oxford Magistrates’ Court of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal on New Year’s Day 2019. They had denied the charge in spite of being caught on film.

This afternoon District Judge Kamlesh Rana said the offence was so serious a prison sentence was merited and each was given a 12-week jail term, suspended for 12 months. They are also required to complete 15 rehabilitation activity requirement days and carry out 120 hours of unpaid work. Court costs of £960 and a victim surcharge of £115 were also ordered.

More details here.

Some people may be surprised that the Kimblewick Hunt is still apparently licensed to hunt on public land managed on our behalf by Forestry England. They can be contacted for comment or to express your views (politely please) at commissioners@forestrycommission.gov.uk
