Please Consider Signing the OneKind Petition.

Libby Anderson and Bob Elliot have submitted a petition to the Scottish Parliament on behalf of OneKind, the Scottish animal welfare charity, calling for a full review of the animal welfare impacts of the use of traps and snares Scotland. This is something that is long overdue. Thousands of native species which are regarded as ‘vermin’ by land managers are killed using spring traps and snares that have the potential to cause an extremely cruel death. In addition no national record is kept of how many animals are actually killed this way each year so we have no idea of how much of our natural heritage we are destroying.

The petition closes on Wednesday 13th November and it will be considered by the Petition’s Committee but the more people who sign it the more effect it will have. You do not have to be resident in Scotland to sign.

PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION HERE.
